Note the driver version or keep this window open
The manual update also requires the internet but you can download the driver from another PC and transfer it to the victim computer. However, the automatic update won’t work for you because your Windows will search for the driver and it requires internet access. You can update the driver automatically as well as manually. So, follow these steps on another PC and transfer the downloaded file via USB. Note: You might not be able to follow all the steps because these steps require internet access. If the problem is still occurring then try to update the driver. If you reverted back to the previous version, restart the computer once the process is done and check if the problem is solved or not. Note: If the “Roll Back Driver…” button is greyed out then that means you can’t go back to the previous version.
Lastly, you should uninstall and let the Windows install a generic driver version for your network card. You can do it both automatically as well as manually.
Next, you should update the drivers to the latest version. The latest drivers sometimes have a bug or compatibility issue. Firstly, you should try to roll back the drivers if the problem occurred after a driver update. There are a couple of things that you can do with your drivers. If the above two methods didn’t work then the chances are that you have a faulty driver.
If you see a Disable option then that means your device is already enabled.
So, we will have to go through multiple methods covering both the software and hardware issues that might be causing the Ethernet problems. The problem can be caused by both a hardware issue and a software issue. It can be a problematic wire, loose connection, network card, outdated driver and whatnot. Since we aren’t talking about a specific error message, there are a ton of things that can cause this issue. The issue of Ethernet not working might be related to a lot of things. And, since their computer is connected to the internet via a cable, that cable or its driver or the network card has some issue. Generally, whenever someone says that their Ethernet isn’t working, what they mean is that their computer is having trouble connecting to the internet. You might have seen wires going from the back of the computers to the internet routers. It is usually referred to as the wired connection with the internet router. Keep in mind that the definition of Ethernet is very different than what we usually use the word “Ethernet” for. Although most of us use Wi-Fi these days, there are times when you would use Ethernet for internet connectivity.
